Kakivik Celebrates Two Significant Safety Accomplishments
Kakivik Reaches Safety Milestones
Anchorage, AK - On June 28, 2010 Kakivik Asset Management, LLC, a subsidiary of Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC), reached two significant safety milestones:
- 1 year since our last OSHA Recordable Injury
- 1 million man-hours since our last Lost Time/Days Away Incident
In addition, Kakivik has now worked more than 1.8 million man-hours without a Lost Time/Days Away incident in our Alaska operations, with the vast majority of the work performed on the North Slope.
Ben Schoffmann, President and CEO, stated, “I am proud of our team and their commitment to safety. These accomplishments demonstrate the progress we have made in achieving a Zero Incident culture and reflect our HSE values, and our HSE leadership objective of ‘ensuring that everyone, on every job can reasonably expect to go home safely every day.’”
Ben further stated, “Kakivik recognizes that the work of improving safety is never done, and has adopted a continuous improvement effort known as ‘More & Better 3F’s.’ By committing to more and better face time, feedback and follow-up, we are ensuring that effective safety discussions are conducted daily, and are holding ourselves more accountable for addressing safety issues and concerns before someone gets hurt. Nothing is more important.”
